Inspirica is pleased to announce the application process for deeply affordable apartments located at 72 Franklin Street in the heart of Downtown Stamford, Connecticut.

Franklin Apartments is a 4-floor walk-up building with 53 deeply affordable rental units, including wheelchair accessible units located on the 1st floor.

Amenities: Downtown Stamford area, coin-operated laundry, bicycle/stroller storage, free trolley, public transportation to MetroNorth station and surrounding areas, and no broker’s fee.

Franklin Apartments is a smoke-free building, and does not allow pets. There is limited parking available on-site.

Who should apply?

Individuals or households who meet the income and household size requirements may apply. The minimum income is a guideline. Qualified applicants will be required to meet additional selection criteria. A percentage of units is set aside for applicants who use a wheelchair.

How do you apply?

Applications can be obtained at the following dates and times, subject to availability: (Total applications available = 1,000. Maximum applications distributed per day = 250)

Wednesday, August 14 12pm-4pm

Thursday, August 15 12pm-4pm

Friday, August 16 12pm-4pm

Sunday, August 18 11am-2pm

A model apartment will be available for viewing at these times.

Pick up location: Franklin Apartments, 72 Franklin Street, Stamford, CT 06901 Public parking available at Target Parking Garage, 33 W Broad Street, Stamford ($1 first 2 hours)

Note: Only one application per household; ID required.

The following items should be submitted at Franklin Apartments, 72 Franklin Street, Stamford, beginning Monday, August 19th (Open 10am to 5pm, Monday through Friday):

  • Completed application

  • $45 application fee (Money order or certified bank check, only. Payable to: “72 Franklin LLC”)

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU SUBMIT AN APPLICATION?

After the deadline (Monday, August 26), submitted applications will be reviewed for possible preferences. Remaining applications are then entered into the lottery process. If your application is selected and you appear to qualify, you will be invited to an appointment to continue the process of determining your eligibility. Appointments are usually scheduled from 1 to 4 weeks after the application deadline. You will be asked to bring documents that verify your household size, identity of members of your household, and your household income.

Once an applicant has been notified of acceptance, the applicant will have two days to accept the unit and sign the lease. A security deposit (1 x monthly rent) plus first month’s rent is due at signing. Lease must begin within 30 days of signing.

A waiting list will be established once all units are filled.
