Inspirica (formerly St. Luke’s LifeWorks) mission is to break the cycle of homelessness by helping people achieve – and maintain – permanent housing and stability in their lives. We are one the largest providers of services to the homeless in Connecticut. Each night, we house 350 people (1,050 per year, including 250 children). Our residential facilities include emergency shelters, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, and deeply affordable housing. We serve individuals across the spectrum of the homeless, including single men, single women, families, people with mental illness, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
Inspirica is one of only a few organizations nationally that is able to address both the physical component of homelessness (residential services) and its underlying root causes (support services) on a single, powerful, end-to-end platform. In addition to housing, we provide vocational training, workforce education, job placement, housing placement, job & housing retention support, children's services, early childhood & parenting services, case management etc. We further collaborate with a vast array of external partners to provide medical/dental care, mental health care, substance abuse treatment etc.

We’re seeking a Resident Associate who believes in the importance of being proactive in order to successfully support our 56-unit Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) facilities at Atlantic Park Apartments and The Colony Apartments. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Director of Property Management and the Property Management Assistant by coordinating the following activities:
Responsible for ensuring properties are secure and compliant by conducting hourly rounds, managing visitor registration and tracking, monitoring security cameras, conducting facility inspections for safety and cleanliness and ensuring property is adequately maintained. The ability to exercise good judgment by knowing when to leverage first responders versus when to engage the property manager is critical. Familiarity with Inspirica policies and residential compliance policies are required.
Responsible for ensuring residents adhere to property policies and escalate violations accordingly. Provide courteous resident support by responding to inquiries, serve as liaison to case managers regarding confidential resident matters and support property manager with collection of rents and other building related issues.
Provide administrative support by answering phone, maintenance of tenant charts, submission of work orders, preparation of client progress and incident reports, maintain resident roster, work with case managers to identify community resources, support property manager with vendor relationship, maintain facility supplies, and other ad hoc requests as needed.
We are a 24/7 operational facility. This position is Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Social Work or Property Management
A minimum of 2 years in property support or administrative assistant role focused in a social services (ideally with the homeless, mental health and/or substance abuse populations)
Must be a self-starter who takes initiative.
Must be a strong multi-tasker with the ability to juggle the random needs of the facility in a timely manner.
Maintain professionalism with residents and Inspirica team.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (managing email and calendar in Outlook, creating Excel spreadsheets with basic formulas and generating correspondence using Word) with a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Basic accounting knowledge preferred
